Olivier Voize

Olivier Voize is a leading Paris freelance musician, playing clarinet and bass clarinet regularly with the Orchestre de L'Opéra de Paris, the Orchestre Philharmonique de Radio-France and the Orchestre de Paris. He has also been a member of the Orchestre Philharmonique de Nice.

Olivier also has a busy career working as a soloist, in chamber music and as a session musician. Olivier enjoys playing with two groups specialising in modern music, the Ensemble FA in Paris and the Ensemble Modern based in Frankfurt/Main.

Olivier Voize has played Peter Eaton Elite clarinets since 1993, following a recommendation from his friend Richard Hosford. "When I first played Peter Eaton Elite clarinets I at last found a homogeneous, focused sound that I could not find on my previous instruments. This was especially apparent in the left hand, where the notes are so much more clear and resonant. The high register was also particularly pleasing and the intonation amazed me! Perhaps I was seduced by the ease with which I could change from bass clarinet to the large bore Elite, though I cannot really say why I enjoyed it more than the International."
